The unusual life of a Scottish Solicitor living in Dubai
1. Why this, why now?
I have considered starting a blog (even attempted once before!) for a long time! However, I constantly worried about whether my content would be interesting or if anyone would read it.
I have two whys: -
I am doing this for me! Documenting my life is extremely important and I hope it is an excellent way of reflecting on my experiences as I get older.
It is impossible to imagine how a standard piece of my own life may inspire or help someone without putting it out there and showing my work!
After all, if I was going to journal everything anyway, why keep it locked away?
2. Who am I?
I am a 28-year-old Scottish solicitor living in Dubai.
I moved to Dubai in August 2021 to continue my legal career.
Having taken a slightly strange and convoluted path to where I am today, I want to offer support to the legal community in any way that I can.
3. What to expect from my blog?
By documenting my life, I want to share my experiences (both good and bad!) and be an open book to my readership.
My posts will reflect my interests. The legal profession is what dominates the majority of my time but I will branch out into other areas, such as culture, travel, and sports!
I hope to provide a plethora of content that will be shared across various social media platforms.
